Safety on Amora
Safety tools that actually work, free for everyone.
Meeting someone new should feel exciting, not risky. Every safety tool in Amora is free on every plan, and each one does exactly what it says.
In the chat
Scam Shield
Romance scammers follow a script. When a message you receive asks for money, gift cards, crypto or a code sent to your phone, asks for bank or ID details, or pushes you to move to another app, Amora shows a calm warning under it with a Report button.
Scam Shield runs on your phone. Your messages are not sent anywhere to be checked.
Report and block
Report a conversation or block someone in a tap. People you block, and people who block you, no longer appear in Discover.
Before and during a date
Date Check-In
Add who you are meeting, where and when, and Amora opens your messages app with the details ready to send to your trusted contact. Afterwards, one tap tells them you are home safe.
Emergency help
Call your local emergency number in one tap, or text your trusted contact your current location. Amora opens your phone's dialler or messages app, so you stay in control of what is sent.
Fake Call
Schedule a realistic incoming call for 30 seconds, 1 minute or 5 minutes from now, so you have an easy reason to step away.
Real people, private details
Selfie verification checked by a person
Take a live selfie doing a pose we choose. Someone on the Amora team compares it with the profile photos before the verified badge appears, and the selfie is deleted once it has been reviewed. A badge means the face matches the photos; it is not a background check, so still take your time.
Private by design
Your email, phone number, date of birth, emergency contact and exact location are kept in a private record that only you can read. Other members see your age, your city and an approximate distance.
Delete means delete
Deleting your account removes your profile, photos and videos, matches, conversations and the messages and likes you sent.
Simple rules that stop most scams
- Never send money, gift cards or crypto to someone you have not met in person, whatever the story.
- Never share a code sent to your phone or email. It can be used to take over your accounts.
- Be wary of anyone who wants to leave the app quickly or keeps avoiding a video call.
- Meet in a public place, arrange your own transport, and tell someone where you are.
